Monday Night Fan Fiction
every last Monday $7pm FREE in the Chandelier Room
In MONDAY NIGHT FAN FICTION, the Internet’s biggest phenomenon comes
to the stage! The show plumbs the depths of the Fan Fiction
community, in which people obsessed with television, movies, comic
books and video games write their own stories about their favorite
characters and post them online on forums, blogs and journals. For
years, these stories have been readable on- line only. No longer:
MONDAY NIGHT FAN FICTION brings fan- written stories to life
onstage, using a rotating cast of New York’s most talented actors as
readers for these astonishing tales of adventure, mystery, action
and ill- advised hook- ups. Past subjects have ranged from Sailor
Moon to The Silence of the Lambs to The Goonies. Nothing is sacred,
no taboos are honored, and no character is safe once these fans (and
our readers) are through with them. MONDAY NIGHT FAN FICTION is a
hysterical, thought- provoking, controversy- courting, copyright-
defying spectacle that embraces storytelling for the Internet age.
So what are you waiting for? We're at the always- swinging
Fontana's, on 105 Eldridge Street (that's that down and dirty Lower
East Side, folks), and we're a measly five bucks. And because we
love you, the first hour of our show coincides with the last hour of
happy hour. How about that? MONDAY NIGHT FAN FICTION: We're coming.
Are you? |
